- Processing and optimizing your uploaded portrait images to enhance natural highlight and shadow contrast while preserving original features.
- Personalizing your app experience and providing customer support.
- Improving our algorithms and service quality through anonymized data analysis.
- Sending important service updates, security alerts, and policy notifications.
3. Third-Party Service Data Processing
Thorn may integrate with trusted third-party services to enhance functionality, such as cloud storage and image processing APIs. These partners are bound by strict data protection agreements and are prohibited from using your data for any purpose beyond the services they provide to Thorn. We do not share identifiable personal data with third parties for their own marketing or advertising use.
Third-Party AI Image Processing Service: Our third-party AI image processing service (utilizing the Google Gemini API via OpenRouter) handles your photo data with the highest security standards. All images are processed ephemerally and are automatically deleted from the processing servers immediately after the enhanced result is generated. No data is stored permanently on third-party servers, and we do not share your content with any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
4. Information Sharing Scenarios
Your information is only shared in the following limited circumstances:
- With your explicit consent for a specific purpose.
- When required by law, regulation, or valid legal process (e.g., court order).
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of Thorn, our users, or the public.

- No Biometric Collection: We do not collect, capture, or store any biometric identifiers or biometric information (such as facial maps or unique face-prints).
- Transient Processing Only: The app analyzes image pixels solely to identify portrait lighting patterns and skin textures for aesthetic lighting refinements.
- Delete After Use: Your photos and any transient data generated during processing are deleted immediately once the process is complete. We do not maintain any database of user-uploaded photos.
- No Third-Party Sharing for Marketing: We do not sell or share facial or portrait data with any third-party marketing or advertising companies.
